The Armadyl godsword is the most powerful weapon in GodzHell. Any player holding it has the ability to kill any monster in 1 hit. The sword has a special attack, although strangely enough, it will only deal 60 - 80 damage when used. Because of this, it is recommended that a player only uses the regular attacks, unless they aren't trying to kill something in 1 hit.
The Armadyl godsword has no requirements to wear.
The Armadyl godsword gives a +1,000,000 bonus to all stats, including strength. This is why the sword is able to kill everything in 1 quick hit.
The only way to get the Armadyl godsword is from other players. There are no shops or NPC's that drop or sell the sword.
Armadyl Godsword vs. 'perfect' ring
While most people believe that the Armadyl godsword and the 'perfect' ring have the exact same effect, this is not necessarily true. Both of these items usually kill things in 1 hit, but the Armadyl godsword is actually more powerful. The ring only gives +10,000 to all bonuses, while the godsword gives +1 million. This makes the sword considerably stronger, although this difference doesn't really show except in monsters with a lot of health. The ring may still be more convenient because you can use whatever weapon you want with it, including just your fist.
The Armadyl godsword is thought to have been introduced to GodzHell around late 2008. At this point in the game, they were very rare and only a small amount of players had them. No one knew what they did at first, but it became obvious that they were vicious 1-hit killing machines very quickly. Because of this new amazing ability, the sword became leaked faster than any item in GodzHell, aside from possibly the 'pefect' ring.
For a few years after its release, the sword would disappear if it wasn't equipped when the player logged out. This made it impossible to have more than 1 at a time for any longer than one log-in session. This slowed the rate at which the sword could be duped, although it still didn't take long for most people to own one. This is currently patched, so players can now own multiple godswords.
The sword's popularity died down a lot with the introduction of 'perfect' rings a few years later. The rings were more liked for a few reasons:
- They didn't disappear upon logout
- They were worn in the ring slot, so any weapon could be used with them
- They could be paired with a Saradomin staff to kill players from far away. This also caused "glitch pking"
